My Story
My name is Nancy Ball, from Canada. Here's my story of how I got involved with our scented candle company. It was not planned whatsoever, it just happened!
In 2004 I received information about a new scented candle on the market. I was attracted to the words "Clean Burning". My first thought was ...."what is a clean burning candle?" I thought it was an interesting concept, and the phrase created enough curiosity for me to find out more about these unique candles and researched the company.
I stopped buying candles several years ago because it was a frustrating experience. My smoke alarm activated every time my "other" candles were blown out; trying to scrap spilled wax off my table (and not damaging the surface); I was not happy with many "other" candles burning unevenly which meant prodding to loosen wax from the sides of the holders; the scents smelled great UNTIL you burned the candles - the fragrance soon disappeared and finally, I had no idea about the types of toxins I was putting into the air in my home when burning many "other" low quality candles that seemed to be a "good buy".
When I visited the web page to investigate these new gourmet candles, three benefits caught my attention:
* the candles were made from a combination of natural wax blends
* they were practically soot-free(No more black mess on walls/ceilings)
* the fragrances continued from the top right down to the bottom
When I asked about the burn time for the jar candles and votives, I was very impressed! I couldn't wait to try these candles to test them out personally. Knowing I would receive a brand NEW scent every month was even more appealing. What a refreshing idea!
I decided to join the Candle of the Month program to enjoy these candles for my own personal use ONLY. My intention was never to develop a candle business.
My first few orders were shipped to my workplace and every month when my orders arrived, my co-workers and customers wanted to buy my jar candle and votives. I began to think I was never going to get these candles home to try them! Since these candles smelled so good and, yes, they burned very clean and evenly, I wanted to see what other candles lovers thought about these products.
I tried an experiment by setting up a little display at work to see the reactions of customers. It was fun to watch the customers "drift" toward the end of the counter towards my little candle display. Everyone reacted positively and the rest is history! Before I knew it, the candle business found me. This is a "feel good" business that hits all the right senses...see it, touch it, smell it. Everybody loves candles.....Light and enjoy, how simple is that! :-)
Our business is definitely a "smell and sell" business. People love knowing our candles are a healthy alternative, and they especially enjoy the wide variety of scents (over 90 to choose from). This is a family-oriented company who care about their members. And they are continually researching and developing NEW products to add to our fine line of gourmet products.
